The Story of This Rug
The Khorjin (saddlebag) pattern comes from a nomadic weaving tradition that stretches from the Caucasus to Anatolia and then to eastern Iran. Each stripe is embellished with small stars, diamonds, roses, and animal figures, as though carrying the signature of a different tribe. This composition, perfected in Shirvan and Akstafa rugs, has been brought back to life on naturally dyed wool through the Chobi reinterpretation maintained in Afghan workshops today.
Why Choose a One-of-a-Kind Handwoven Afghan Rug
- Each rug is made by a single weaving team; it cannot be reproduced exactly.
- 100% Ghazni sheep wool resists stains thanks to its natural lanolin and develops a beautiful patina over the years.
- Unlike synthetic colors, natural root and bark dyes soften and mellow over time.
- The asymmetrical Persian knot creates a dense and durable weave.
- The natural washed finish gives the rug an antique texture and a soft hand.
Color and Pattern
Against the Multicolored Khorjin ground, stripes in golden yellow, indigo, ivory, walnut, and green tones are arranged at equal intervals. Each stripe contains tiny stars, roses, diamonds, and animal figures. A palmette and rosette chain composition frames the design in the border.
Care Recommendations
- Clean once a week with a low-suction vacuum without a brush attachment.
- Remove spills by gently blotting with a damp white cloth; do not rub.
- Have it inspected by a professional rug cleaner every 3–4 years.
- Keep it away from direct sunlight and use a rug pad.
This numbered original work is a one-of-a-kind rug bearing the weaver's signature.

Protect Elegance
A delicate care routine should be adopted to preserve the original splendor and silky texture of Carpetdocia's handwoven and natural-fiber pieces, which add value to your living space, for generations to come.
Immediate Action and Contact with Liquids
When liquid is spilled, timing is the most critical factor. Using a clean, slightly damp cloth, remove the liquid from the surface by gently blotting only, never rubbing. Always work in the direction of the rug's pile (the natural direction in which the fibers lie). Rubbing can damage the shape of delicate fibers such as TENCEL™ and viscose. If you are unsure, stop immediately.
Routine Care and Light Balance
For your weekly cleaning routine, always use vacuum cleaners with low suction power. High-powered upright vacuum cleaners and stiff brushes can damage the natural structure of handwoven yarns. To balance the reaction of natural yarns to light and prevent localized tonal differences (fading), we recommend changing the direction of your rug every 2 to 6 months.
The Expert Touch (Professional Cleaning)
Noble textures such as handwoven fibers, TENCEL™, viscose, and New Zealand wool should not come into contact with household chemical cleaners. Such products can irreversibly damage the rug's silky sheen and structural integrity. For deep cleaning, seek assistance only from professional rug care centers specializing in natural fibers.
