Oushak Carnaval 100% Natural, Easy to Clean, Handcrafted Modern TENCEL™ Uşak Rug 08 RED AUTUMN
Oushak Carnaval 100% Natural Handmade TENCEL™ Modern Uşak Carpet – Red Autumn (Cypress Tree)
The Oushak Carnaval Collection consists of modern-designed Uşak carpets handcrafted from 100% natural Lyocell (TENCEL™). The silky texture and natural sheen of TENCEL™ fiber add elegance and a luxurious feel to your living spaces. The fringed edge finish offers a classic look, while the 7.5 mm pile height creates a soft, comfortable surface. Carefully woven with 168,000 knots and a weight of 3,300 g/m², it is dense and long-lasting. This variant features a modern design with traditional Uşak-inspired cypress tree (tree of life) motifs in autumn tones spread across a red background. In Anatolian weaving tradition, the cypress (tree of life) symbolizes eternity and the continuity of life.
What Is TENCEL™ (Lyocell)?
TENCEL™ is the registered brand name of lyocell fiber produced by Austrian company Lenzing AG. It is made from wood cellulose sourced from sustainably managed forests through a closed-loop, environmentally friendly production process. It is known for its silk-like softness, natural sheen, high moisture absorption, and biodegradable properties. In the Oushak Carnaval Collection, TENCEL™ fiber combines with handwoven craftsmanship to offer both a silky, lustrous surface and a durable, luxurious texture.
Uşak Carpets and a Modern Interpretation
Uşak, in Western Anatolia, is a historic city that has been a center of carpet weaving for centuries. Uşak carpets, renowned worldwide since the Ottoman era for their star and medallion patterns, are known for their elegant color transitions and masterful craftsmanship. The Oushak Carnaval Collection brings this rich Uşak tradition together with a modern, artistic interpretation, reimagining traditional motifs with contemporary color palettes and a silky TENCEL™ texture.

How to Clean a TENCEL™ Rug?
Daily care for Oushak Carnaval TENCEL™ rugs is simple: vacuum them easily with a low-suction vacuum cleaner, and gently blot any spills with a slightly damp (not wet) cloth. However, since TENCEL™ is a natural cellulose fiber, it is sensitive to water and excess moisture; do not soak the rug or machine-wash it. For a deep clean, professional rug cleaning is recommended. This helps preserve the rug's silky sheen and colors for a long time.
The Oushak Carnaval Collection is made from sustainably sourced TENCEL™ fiber. For more information about the material's sustainability and our certifications, visit our Sustainability and Certifications page.

Protect Their Elegance
To preserve the original splendor and silky texture of Carpetdocia’s handwoven, natural-fiber creations that bring value to your living space for generations, adopt a gentle care routine.
Immediate Action and Liquid Spills
When spills occur, timing is critical. Use a clean, slightly damp cloth to lift the liquid from the surface by gently blotting only - never rub. Always work in the direction of the rug pile (the fibers’ natural lay). Rubbing can damage the shape of delicate fibers such as TENCEL™ and viscose. If in doubt, stop immediately.
Routine Care and Light Balance
For your weekly cleaning routine, always use vacuum cleaners with low suction power. High-powered upright vacuums and stiff brushes can damage the natural structure of handwoven yarns. To balance natural fibers’ reaction to light and prevent localized tonal differences (fading), we recommend changing your rug’s direction every 2 to 6 months.
The Expert Touch (Professional Cleaning)
Noble fibers such as handwoven TENCEL™, viscose, and New Zealand wool should not come into contact with household chemical cleaners. These products can irreversibly damage the rug’s silky sheen and structural integrity. For a thorough clean, seek help only from professional rug care centers specializing in natural fibers.
Washing Instructions
The exquisite pieces in the Carpetdocia collections are not suitable for machine washing due to their construction. (Only specific models explicitly labeled “Washable” in their name can be washed in home washing machines using a low-temperature, delicate cycle.)
